Research On Adjectives In Songs Of Chu

According to some methods like statistics, categorization,contrast and analysis, this paper carefully discribed the adjective's structural features,phonetic forms,meaning types and grammatical functions in Songs of Chu.The paper consists of the following four parts:Reasons for topic selecting and conditions of studying about adjectives in Songs of Chu are briefly presented in the introduction, as well as the studying materials and assumes.Chapter I mainly studied the adjective's structural features in Songs of Chu.At first, benefiting from predecessors' theories, we found all the adjectives in Songs of Chu to analyse structurly in ration.There are a large number of adjectives in Songs of Chu. Although most of them are compound-tone and their distribution of structural types are unbalanced, singlemorpheme words is the major part with more complete structural types and overlaping-tone words.In contrast with modern Chinese, structural types of compound words is incomplete and joint-compound words are the most with relative productivity. In addition,there are some overlaping-root words in compound words.In chapter II, the paper studied quality adjectives and condition adjectives in Songs of Chu including quality adjectives' semantic types, the ability of being modified by adverbs and serving as syntactic components and condition adjectives' phonetic forms, the ability of serving as syntactic components.At the same time,this chapter analysed some colour adjctives and the origin of some adjectives in Songs of Chu.In chapter III,this paper analysed the oerall features of adjectives in Songs of Chu.lt is also a simple conclusion of this paper including the adjctives' structural types, syntactic functions, pragmatics and so on.
