Mao Zedong And Hu Feng Event

The event of Hu Feng is one of China's earth shaking politics events and the spiritual events in the 20th century. Therefore, It is called, the biggest miscarriages of justice in the literary and art circles in new China. The formation of this event has its profound historical reason.The intense literary arts debate in progressive literary and art circles in the 1930's or 1940's in China caused the massive human affairs entanglement in the progress literary and art circles, which buried the hidden danger for the formation of this event. Although Hu Feng obeyed the lead of the Communist Party of China and the literary thought of Mao Zedong , but there were great differences between Hu Feng and Mao Zedong in the literary thought. Before the establishment of new China , Hu Feng was a famous and progressive writer, but Mao Zedong paid more attention to his unruliness, and he thought that Hu Feng was only a fellow traveller, but not an ally to th Party. There was no personal contact between them.After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, Hu Feng and other people were filled with the heroic feelings to eulogize new China and the great leader. But by now Mao Zedong attempted to set up the authority of Mao Zedong Thought in academic circles's . In the literary and art circles, after the critique of " Wu Xun Biography "and Hu Shi thought, after that there was critique to Hu Feng's literary arts thought. The leaders of the party in literary and art circles' , firstly attempted to criticize Hu Feng's literary thought, hoped to compel Hu Feng and his friends to admit their mistakes. But Hu Feng was a person of independent personality and stubborn character. After bearing patiently for a moment, he and his friends submitted "300,000 Words Prospectuses" to the Central Party Committee, and they attempted to transform the literary and art circles by hand of the leader, Then, Mao Zedong involved, therefore the event of Hu Feng changed complex.In 1954, after the "Gao Rao event" appeared inner-party , the Mao Zedong paidmore attention to class struggle , and "was gradually left" extention. This also causedMao Zedong's thought transformation to the intellectual ,and the relations of MaoZedong and the intellectual changed subtly. At the same time, through the critique of"Wu Xun Biography" and the Hu Shi thought, the authority of Mao Zedong's thought established in the inliterary and art circles', Mao Zedong decided to move the last rock waste in literary and art circles . From then on , the thought critique of Hu Feng critique movement, suddenly deteriorated to the political critique. Hu Feng and his friends was made into "the antiparty bloc" ,and subsequently "the counter-revolutionary bloc", "The Hu Feng members" were arrested one after another, and were put into prison, and from then on they were transformed.Hu Feng and his friends were hit ignorantly by the suddenly political unrest, many intellectuals also felt puzzled. The historical tragedy was born.Originally the thought critique to Hu Feng critique movement suddenly was rised as the political critique because of Mao Zedong's involvement . The dual function of authority and the right , caused the great change of the nature of the Hu Feng Event. Regarding to the literary question,we can only adopt the way of criticism and contend, the authority and the right should yield. A society is enlightened in politics , and has perfect legal system, which is the safeguard to the citizen's personal safety, which is the basic premise to the personality elegant demeanour . In the new century,we hope the historical tragedy would no longer repeat, and the obsolete shackles would no longer fetter the footsteps towards advance.
