The total trade of the culture industry represented by film and entertainment products America exceeding over the trade of aerospace industry, has accounted for 40% of the international market share. In Japan, since 1993, the culture industry's GDP has surpassed the automobile manufacturing industry; in the United Kingdom, an annual turnover of the cultural industry is 60 billion pounds, absorbing 5% of the working population.However, in our country film industry has been given more attention only in recent years, China's film market was put on the agenda in the beginning of 1990's. Since 2003, Chinese has begun to realize the local film industry should be developed, in 2006 Chinese movie is stepping out of a big step on the path of industrialization--the industrial system is being firstly formed.From the film industry characteristics, combined with industry organization analysis, this thesis describes and analyzes the current situation of several important systematic aspects of the current Chinese movie industry. This thesis is trying to sum up Chinese movie industry's development achievements, analyze the deficiencies and realize the direction of Chinese film industry development more clearly.This thesis's method is based on the"structure—conducts—performance"paradigm of industrial organization theory, study on our traditional film production chain, which includes film production, distribution and screening. This thesis uses the comparative analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis, normative and empirical analysis.This thesis analyzes China's film industry with a large quantity of detailed data from three aspects, namely structure, conduct and performance analysis. In addition, the current situation of the film industry development is on an empirical analysis. During the course of this thesis, I found the relevant documents, although many, but could be used for analysis of the data is minimal. The relevant data are collated in the form attached to the thesis and maybe it's helpful for movie researchers.This thesis consists of five parts:Chapter 1: Introduction. This section describes the background of this thesis and study significance. The thesis outlines the methodology, scope and deficiencies, and puts forward the point of study combined with the current studies.Chapter II: The relevant theories of the analysis on the film industry. This part introduces the relevant theories including industrial organization theory and film industry theory.Chapter III: Analysis on the structure of the Chinese film industry organizations. This chapter introduces the structure's theory. Based on this theory, on the empirical analysis three components of the film industry are analyzed from degree of concentration, product differentiation, entry and exit barriers, and relevant conclusion are drawn.Chapter IV: Chinese film industry's behavior analysis. In this chapter on the basis of behavior theory, the market's analysis is largely qualitative methods. And the relevant behaviors are analyzed.Chapter V: Analysis on Chinese film industry organization's performance. This chapter consists of two parts: the introduction of performance theory; performance analysis on China's film industry corresponding to three parts of film industry in China. The qualitative and comparative analysis contrast to the film industry in the United States is used.Finally, the data collated during this thesis are attached at the end of this thesis for convenience.
