American Response And Influence On European Integration During The Early Days Of WW II (1946-1951)

The European integration as one of the most important phenomenon in the 20th century, appeared from European millennium history at last, which related to maturity of one's own condition, but, most importantly, Mostly the reality of American own interests. But in the course of starting in European integration, alien force from the U S A is essential. This text will analyze about the American-European relation in initial stage after the war,We can say that the American-European relation of initial stage is shown as response to European integration after the war and influence .This paper divides four parts together. Part one I pointed the international background, the status of American global strategy of Europe. After the war, the old international system was disintegrated completely by the new international system that the Soviet Union and the USA is headed . Europe was not the center of the world, that can't decide one's own historical destiny any more, and the U.S.A,.that has given up " the isolationism " , begins to plan world domination as the growth of the capability, clearly realizing the strategic position of Europe. The European integration is the result of this kind of reality and history interweaved.Part two Author's purpose lied in explaining the role of the Cold War in European integration, and the relation that Cold War and American attitude toward European integration that changed. The Cold War was the special historical period after the war, just because of the reason of the Cold War too, the U.S.A. begined to change his direction to Contain the Soviet Union. " Marshall plans " is enticement from the USA to Russia. The paper focused on the Analysis on Europe from the USA before Marshall's plan established.,The USA who has seemingly generous " dollar "demanded obeying.Part three ,security question which Europe cares about most is the centre of this part. There are a lot of connections between security defence of Europe and the USA. The safe defence system in western Europe is being developed constantly after the war, the setting-up from Brussels treaty to NATO, which is exactly the result of that theyare benefited each other. The setting-up of NATO, made western Europe and U.S.A. approving at the same time, offering psychology and realistic guarantee to European too. The Europeans are inclined to the independent defence more and more, there is more and more contradiction between America and Europe .German question and European integration was moving ahead simultaneously to U.S.A..It bringed Germany into schedule in unison actively, while arming Germany again, opposed to the Soviet Union, but arm Germany and must pacify France first again. Schumann plans , according with the benefit of U.S.A., got the energetical support of U.S.A.Here, the author refers to that, France and Germany have already realized that U.S.A. just was the external strength, and the real union of Europe was their business.Part four ,The author analyzed the reason why U.S.A. supported European integration. We can say, without the pushing of U.S.A., although, European integration will be realized, it is a question of time. The American attitude toward European integration went through from support to the transition supporting actively either. This chapter had three respects: politically, economy, military affairs .Foremost, would The USA help Europe go out of these " historical difficult position ?" In my opinion, I thought , so long as The U.S.A. still keeps the advantage to Europe, it will become the partner of U.S.A.In the conclusion part, we can find out, the dream of big country of Europe, the dominant dream of The U.S.A., the changes of international situation and capability of both sides are foundations of the American-European relation,under the basic pattern of the cold war between east and west .It is impossible for the integration of Europe to get totally independent development, including into U.S.A. to global strategy preventing from Russia in fact. But Europe injured can only choose to arrange this temporarily, or we can say to persuade it from such an arrangement.
