Li'ang is one of renowned Taiwan female writers. In Li's novels, the female start to have clearer self-awareness: they bravely rebelled against the fatherhood, seek for the economical independence and independent personality in order to get rid of the obsolete social order. All these manifest the process of feminine growth in the reforming course from a male-dominant society to a more equal society for both the male and the female. This thesis is based on Li's novels, takes female growth as the topic and demonstrates feminine changes from a new angle of view that breaks the former commentary way. By doing this, it can further clarify the prejudice on Li's works in the literary arena, release the confusion existing among the readers and the observers.This thesis mainly carries on the elaboration as the following:Introduction part: it is to elaborate the reason for choosing female growth as the topic based on individual study and life experience.First part is the brief introduction to "The growth subject and the female's creation". firstly, the word "growth" is defined from both narrow and broad sense, then put forward a topic on the basis of former novels concemed with "growth": the relationship between the feminine literature, the growth novels and the growth subject in Li's novels.Second part is to state the problems concemed with girls' growth involving in Li's early works. As for girls, growth means physiologically mature, as well as psychological transformation; it is a process of seeking, knowing and preliminary forming self-awareness. The place Lu gang is the resources for Li's creation. "sex" is the theme for her novel. This part also states the constrains on girls' sex consciousness by the feudal culture.In the third part, it is concentrated on her works in the intermediate peroid. By discussing of the relationship between sex and love reflecting through the mutual interactions between female and male, the purpose is to reveal female growth during their sex and love experiences.Fourth part: The female positively seek for her social role after they mature both physiologically and psychologically to prove their own existence value through the social role. This part is mainly concerned with the novels done in her later period.A comparison between Li'ang and Chen Ran is done in the Fifth part: by comparing their novels, it will be much clearer to find that there are different approaches and understandings to female growth.Finally, it is the conclusion part of the whole thesis.
