| Chinese calligraphy is the most representative Chinese art, whose creation course and artistic works fully reflect traditional philosophy and national spirit. The calligraphy of different periods embodies profound aesthetics also. The calligraphists turn their vision into abstract characters, which describes the abstract form of calligraphy that melts ingeniously in "Nature". "Nature" is the origin and home to Chinese calligraphy arts and thoughts. And the theories of calligraphy's origin in nature, "calligraphy should be developed from nature" and the unification of its origin and development have constituted Chinese Calligraphy's theoretical system of origin in, quest for and reunion to "Nature". This paper studies calligraphy works and theories of different periods by exhaustively collecting the relevant natural images and speeches which compare and symbolize calligraphy art with natural image. By so doing, "Nature" and the concrete artistic discipline of calligraphy are connected for crossed correlation analysis and explanation in order to better observe the origin and generation of Chinese calligraphy's natural ideas. In this paper, calligraphy natural ideas are put further into the large vision of Chinese classic aesthetics for comparative review, which clarifies the relationship of calligraphy and nature and the development of calligraphy aesthetic thoughts from "origin in nature" to "development from nature", thus explored the importance and meaning of Chinese calligraphy natural ideas in traditional aesthetics and literature & art. |
