This thesis focuses on the geographical distribution of the finals with consonants as [-m]/[-p] to the vocabulary in Xian/Shen Rime Groups in Chenghai dialect. With the research method of dialectology and dialect geography, it is obvious that in some area of Chenghai, [-m]/[-p] finals have been changed into [-η]/[-k/(?)], or combined with the vowels before them to changed into nasalization. This variation had emerged during the late Qing Dynasty and the early period of Republic of China. Then by the function of several language and non-language factors, in future, such variation will still go on. Therefore, the geographical distribution areas; with the finals with consonants as [-m]/[-p] will gradually reduce.
