The word "hermit" is long-standing, and its meanings are abundant, there are different natural and cultural backgrounds in the production of theses different meanings. Through to the discussion of these meanings, we may discover different cultural phenomenon.This theses studies the hermits, who lived in Ming Dynasty Jiajing and Wanli, was a group with very strong attachment and mobility marginalized by merciless social system. So those famous people, in political or literary areas, often attracted them to pay respects.On one hand, this makes them keep fairly closed with "retro" and "Gong'an" school, which promotes the development of the literary in different extent. On the other hand, this causes them to be accepted and respected difficultly by the society, but enhances their self-shaping and enhancing awareness.
