Hongjiang(former Qianyang county) locates southwest of Hunanprovince and south of Huaihua, and it also locates on the cross-area ofHunan province and Guizhou province. Transportation there is occlusive.In this area, dialect is very complicated, but few people has ever done anyresearch on it. In this research, I've done comprehensive fieldinvestigation and grasped many first-hand materials. I delineate phoneticsof Anjiang dialect in Hongjiang, and provide the syllabery and acomparing table of ancient and current phonetics and other detailedphilological materials. Furthermore, I probe into some important issuessuch as the difference between literal and colloquial pronunciation.Hongjiang locates cross-area of Xiang groups and Southwest Mandarin,and dialect belongingness is under dispute. In this article, I lay emphaseson phonetics of Anjiang dialect in Hongjiang, and compare it with Xiangdialect and Southwest Mandarin. Finally, I put forward my opinions onbelongingness and cause of Hongjiang dialect.This dissertation is divided into five chapters, which are:Chapter One Introduction.This chapter introduces the geography, history, population andlanguage of Hongjiang and Anjiang town.
