The Historical Reflection Of American Main Religion Participate In Political And Social Life

The Unite States is a religious country with a strong religious color. The existence and changes of religions have been exerting important influence on the politics of the United States. Although the U.S.A actualized the principles of religion and state separation for a long time, the religion and state have synchronized each other. Since the 1960s, the original WASP had been instead of PCJ mode pattern. The political inclination and participation of the religious groups in the United States have changed greatly in activities with the social and political life, which have played an important role in the U.S.A party politics. The main religion groups have been wild about the participation of election,governmental policy,juristic actualization and taken part in the judgment of law cases. The values of this dissertation are to explore the exhibitions and reflections of the American main religion .Then to analyze the attitudes and experiences of American government when they deal with the relationship of the religion and state. It is in order to provide some references to constructing the rational relationship between religion and state.The main body of this dissertation consists of four parts:Chapter one sets up a clear frame for the research. First, it explains the relationship of the religion and state in America. Second, through the analysis of the relationship and constitution, it explains the social characteristics of religion. Then find out the practice of the law about the religion and state.Chapter two analyzes the main objects of American main religion. In order to explain the development of the main religion, it explains the process of the religious history of groups.The same time, it shows the analysis of the evolution and politic participation of main religious groups. Traditionally, hold Protestantism all around the land. However, out of consideration of Catholic economic and social interests, the Catholics supported the republican and advocated a liberal economic reform. With the rise of the social status of the Catholic groups , the Political inclination of the Catholic Churches turned left in the middle 1960s. They called people to pay attention to social equality. Abortion was a main concern of the Catholicism, which was related to their religious value. At the same time Judaism was an important role in politics.Chapter three, firstly, it analyzes that the behaviors influenced the political participation of the religious groups and discusses the factors of election,Congress making-low,moral thought of society and foreign policy. Because of the differences existed both three main religious groups, so it explains Protestant,Catholic and Judaism one by one. Chapter four, the integrated analysis of the dissertation: This dissertation brings forward a theory of three factors that influence the religious groups'political participation according to the related theories of politics and religion-dynamics, environment, and resource. Then analyze the results of the political participation of the religious groups.
