This is a literature paper about the American Dream and American literature in the1910s and 1920s. The American Dream not only is culture but also is a literature phenomenon .The story of American has been the story of success. Early settle had a hard life when they first came to the New Land. Individual enterprise has been america national anthem, and the achievements as a have seemed its mirror and collective manifestation. The all American have a common dream : American Dream. American Dream is a part of American Spirits. The Declaration of Independence promote that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.The pursuit of success is the core of American Dream. But since the middle of 19th century,the American Dream had had a negative change. The wealth became the sole interest.Indeed, the end of World War I, a number of American thought that prospects of success have vanished. Many writers such as Jack Londen,Theodore Dreiser, Sinclair Lewis, Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway express the change in their novels. American live in what is probably the most competitive of the world's civilized societies. The national custoums encourage a high degree of aggression in the individual's trriving for success. In 1910s and 1920s ,especially the appearcance is quite remarkable because the peried is a turn in the development of American socity. American novels's theme and image convey the phenomenon.In a word the American Dream of American literature didn't vanish, it is a tremendous force of pushing progress of U.S.A and is a manifestation that American writers pay close attention to human being.
