The Relationship Of Subjective Well-being And Psychological Well-being

Well-being was an old but renewable topic, and the research on it was an noticeable part in positive psychology. Based on different philosophy Well-being research had subjective well-being and psychological well-being two trends. The subjective well-being (SWB) was a comprehensive psychological index to measure the mass of people's life satisfaction. The psychology well-being was an evaluation of the good condition of individual's mental enginery and potential realization. The research based on hedonism and realization to explore the relationship between the two research trends of well-being and the relationship between well-being and personality. 788 undergraduates were sampled according to the different school and major. The research used literature method and questionnaire survey. The descriptive statistic, multi-factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and factor analysis were carried on the data.The main research result is:1. The correlation research of undergraduates'well-being. Discussed the different effect of the undergraduate demographic variables on the SWB and PWB. The SWB and PWB of the undergraduates at a middle but higher level. The demographic variables which had effects on SWB was family income, while the students'achievement effects PWB.2. The research on the correlation between the two research trends of SWB and PWB. There was middle correlation between the two research trends on well-being. SWB paid attention to the subjective feeling, however the PWB emphasized on the objective resource.3. The undergraduate colony can be divided into four types: high SWB-high PWB, high SWB-low PWB, low SWB-high PWB, low SWB-low PWB; The personality of each well-being type is different.In summary, There are some differences in the scope of PWB and SWB focused on. The relation between the two research trends is independent but partly superposition.
