Influence Of Russian Art Teaching On Chinese Art Education

In year 2006 the Chinese cities Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong Province became the place of numbers of activities in the frame of"Year of Chinese-Russian Cultural Exchange". Both China and Russia have carried on the wide-ranging exchange and interaction in the cultural and economic domains; and this is the biggest cultural and economic union ever existed for several decades. This exchange one more time strengthened traditional friendship between people of two countries. Especially in the drawing art aspect, after successfully conducted several intercultural activities like art exhibitions, the contemporary Chinese painting world, once again, experienced the deep connotation and influence of Russian culture. These exhibitions caused the huge vibration in contemporary Chinese painting artistic circles. At the same time this exchange has unfolded present situation in development of contemporary Russian painting art, has provided Chinese people with perfect opportunity for study from analyzing and discussing the development of ideological trend of contemporary Russian painting art and tendency of academic development in research of Russian plastic arts.The modern Chinese drawing art experienced a big influence of Russian drawing art because of historical reasons. No matter the art creation form or the drawing technique, they all have got the deep mark of Russian drawing art. Even Chinese painting teaching system follows the model of painting teaching system of former Soviet Union (Russia).This form of teaching has trained and affected several generation of Chinese drawing art circles, at the same time it produced a large quantity of Masters of painting, the teachers and the art theoreticians. Simultaneously it also laid the solid foundation for development of Chinese modern drawing art, what was very significant. At the beginning, Russian painting art promoted the development of Chinese modern panting art, laid down the foundations for modern Chinese fine arts, during a certain period of time it controlled the directions of development of contemporary Chinese painting. Before the beginning of 20th century China was a feudal society and had the semi-colonial condition for a long time, the traditional drawing model cannot reflect modern Chinese society's transformation and development. The group of ambitious young people hoped to break traditional chains through another kind of drawing form, they strived for the new transformation to realize their own high ambition, to eulogize their own great motherland, to reflect Chinese and Russian working broad masses'life. In the middle of 20th century the alliance of two counties'parties allowed to just have been established People's Republic of China to obtain the Soviet's huge help and the support, it also allowed to Chinese modern painting art and art education to receive unprecedented development and breakthrough.In 60th of last century, as a result of influence of some political factors, modern drawing art did not step into the direction of development to let the arts to have free expression and let a hundred schools of thought to strive. The phenomenon of"one-sided development"has appeared therefore many-sided development of the Chinese modern drawing art was limited in certain degree. As a result of ideology and the military alliance camp's division, in middle of the 20th century Chinese drawing art almost entirely has inherited Soviet Union's drawing and art education model. European and American modern drawing art of the same period was quite active and developing very rapidly, but as a result of the ideology each kind of different advanced artistic ideological trend and the artistic creation form or method did not have an opportunity for developing and penetration into Chinese society.Modern China is a state with open policy. Since the reform of open policy, different kinds of artistic thoughts and painting forms from Europe, USA and other countries entered to China, fused the Chinese society gradually, affecting China's cultural art development.The cultural activities of 2006 year which was a"Year of Chinese-Russian Cultural Exchange"once again opened the gate of cultural art exchange between both countries, once again impelled the Chinese modern drawing art development and the art fusion.In this paper we attempt to prove the influence of Russian fine arts education on the Chinese fine arts education through discussion of art exchanges between China and Russia in different times.
