Domestication and foreignization are the two strategies which have aroused hot debate in recent years. The debate can be seen as the extension of the debating of lexical translation and free translation. But it is a much more complex issue. "Hybrid" is a term from agriculture and biology. Research on hybridization of domestication and foreignization in translation is a completely new angle of view which is different from the traditional translation theory, because it concerns more about culture and society than language itself.
