Till now, most research about Yan Geling's works pay attention to her Long piece of fiction. The research people study and analyses the female awareness or identity from feminism, post-colonialism, or from literature Theory, such as Narratology or "space" theory. The research to female authors usually goes to a habitual thinking as concentrate to the female figure in the novel. But my research uses reverse thinking to focus on the male figures which set and described by female authors. And also investigate the complex relationship between these male and female figures. From this angle we review the author's attitude to women. We use this angle and method to study famous overseas Chinese author Yan Geling's works in order to disclose the culture meaning of the setting of opposite sex figures and also penetrate communication or blocking between sex and culture. On the other hand, analyses kinds of twisted relationships between women and men which happened in foreign land to tell the deep meaning of human beings.
