| With the globalization of economy and the further opening-up of China, learning English well is of greater importance for Chinese English learners, which is not only one of the most important standards of measurement in academy, job hunting and further study, but also a necessary tool in future promotion, career development and expansion of self-development space. However, the unsatisfactory effect of language learning and teaching makes a contrast with the high expectation from the whole society and the severe demand on talents'qualities. The situation that language learning mainly takes the form of teachers'transmission and students'reception of knowledge excluding the sense of enjoyment and autonomy has become one of the factors for the ineffectiveness of present language learning.Language learning involves both the development of cognition and affect. Learners'affective variables inevitably influence the final language learning achievement and even the whole personal growth. Combining the relevant theories in management, psychology and language teaching and focusing on the application of the affective strategies into pedagogy, this thesis aims to construct the affectively motivational strategies which can help create a relaxing and effective language learning environment. This teaching approach was put into practice for a year to test its feasibility and effectiveness. The statistics of both the experimental class and the control class were obtained and analyzed. The result shows obvious improvement in English achievement, higher levels of self-esteem, more positive learning attitudes as well as more harmonious interpersonal relationships. The findings give evidence that affective motivational strategies can help educators to implement language teaching in a more effective way. |
