Postmodern fiction, a burgeoning literary form in the postmodern context, reforms the tradition audaciously by replacing order, lucidity and rationality with disorder, obscurity and absurdity. Postmodern fictionists strain every nerve to present us a world of"anarchy". In accordance with the postmodern psychology, the fictional language is packed with fragments, juxtapositions of pastiches and non-linear narratology, which poses a great challenge to the translator in various aspects. The translation theories concerning this part have been seldom touched upon in spite of a rocketing research interest in the field of translation practice. Here lies the writer's intention of writing this paper: making a tentative and bold attempt in this regard from the theoretical approach. Two major demonstrations are involved in the paper: 1. from structuralism to deconstructionism– readjusting the theoretical basis; 2. from the cultural perspective to the textual one– meaning conveyance in the cultural aspect and the translation of intertextuality which gives rise to the meaning of postmodern fiction.
