The imagination of the Postmodern Metropolis in the fiction from Taiwan is so rich and wonderful.A lot of writers of Taiwan try to describe the Postmodern Metropolis from differrent aspects.We found they presented five characteristics of the Postmodern Metropolis after we studied them as a whole.The five characteristics are consumerism,globalization,paying much attention to body,virtuality,and two-polar.The chapter of the city of consumption discusses the space of consumption and the consumer of the Postmodern Metropolis which the Taiwan’s writers try to present vividly.It also discusses the code-fasinating and ideology of advertisement which they expose deeply.It does the special study about every field falled into the logic of market which is descriped in <witch word> and tactics of daily life which is used to against the consumer society by Zhu Tianwen in her writings.And the reverse acceptance of the readers to the critical writings of the consumer society from Taiwan is researched too.The chapter of the city of globalization researches three differrent attitude about the interaction between Taibei and other metropolis which is presented in the fiction from Taiwan.On the other hand,it studies the imagination and the coping strategy about the uniformity of live and the homogeneity of the landscrape of the Postmodern Metropolis in the Taiwan’s novels.The chapter of the city of body studies the three kinds of Micro Political in Taiwan which are gender struggle,homosex issue and Queer discourse.They developed continually since 1987.Then it discusses the Taiwan’s rich imagination about the body political from the various writing of homosex and the dilemma writing of Queer.The chapter of the city of virtually explores the three space writed by novelists of Taiwan.First of all,it talks about the Taiwan’s novelists how to present the real space existed in the real Postmodern Metropolis which is so weird.
