Shanghai, as the origin place of the CPC, has an important and special position in history during the whole particular period of revolution for democratic rights. It's helpful for us to strength understanding further to the history of the CPC and the history of Shanghai by researching and summarizing striving experience of the CPC in Shanghai. Shanghai is one of the most significant areas in CPC's work of the areas governed by Kuomintang. The CPC in Shanghai had accumulated plenty of experience and lessons of mass work during the endless and arduous striving. Comparing with the experience of success, it is more valuable to introspect the lessons from failure for us. Many vital frustrations suffered by mass work of the CPC during Agrarian Revolutionary War Period, which shows a clear contrast with the flourishing situation of mass work in the other days of the democratic revolution. This thesis is according to realistic historical data and do research on the mass work, Then based on this point above that to reveal and generalize the fundamental model of uniting and trying masses by the CPC during that time, chief experience and lessons, new angle of views and some enlightenment that supplied for strengthen and improve the mass work of Grass—root party that under present new situation and conditions. Introduction excluded, this dissertation is divided into three sections.The first section, We will analyze the background of mass work of the CPC in Shanghai during Agrarian Revolutionary War Period from three aspects: Firstly, it discusses the conditions of economy, politics and education of the worker class in Shanghai, in order to outline the characteristics of the CPC's working target in Shanghai. Then, it reveals cities' work routes, ways and missions that were decided by CPC's leading department during this period and the effects that be made to the mass work in Shanghai. Lastly, this essay will preliminary examine the situation of the CPC's organizing and building in Shanghai during this period, because this group and fighting capacity of members related directly to the effectiveness and efficiency of the CPC's mass work.The second section, we will examine the specific methods of the masse work for the CPC in Shanghai during this period from 3 parts too. Firstly, we will analyze how did the CPC organize masses in Shanghai? How about the relation of the CPC and masses? How about the appearance and effectiveness of these masse groups? Are there any problems or reasons? Then, specific exam the methods and strategies about publicizing and educating masses by the CPC during this period, it discusses particularly some aspects, for instance, publicizing institutions and power, publicizing contents and ways, methods, and publicizing effects, etc. for analyzing the appearance of publicizing systemically. The last one, exam systemically forms of striving that be leaded by the CPC in Shanghai, the methods, strategies and reasons that no matter success or failure.The third section, last but not the least, this article will summarize the theories that fundamental model and major experience of mass work as to the CPC in Shanghai during this period, then abstract the most important experience and lessons that could achieve success or even get failure from all of the words above, and get some enlightenment finally that could be helpful to our mass work nowadays.
