The Initial Study On The Creative Characteristic Of Domenico Scalatti' Sonata

Baroque Period is the period of modern music civilization. The musical style then was colorful and various. At the same time , it is a link period in the musical history and has a far-reaching effect on later music. Domenico Scalatti was a famous composer, an outstanding classic piano player and an educator during that period. And he was also one of talented composers with top originality in the musical history. This article concerns about the study of Scalatti's over 500 piano sonatas with reference to some information in the aspect of music score, literature and audio and about the probe into composition features of his works to further understand the divisity of musical styles during Baroque late period and to provide for our future music composition with a little enlightment and reference.The article includes four parts: Chapter one "Scalatti's Art Career", a brief account of his life and the influence of his times and people in that period on his composition. Chapter two "The Features of Scalatti's Sonata Composition", an illustration of the features of musical styles and the origin of sonata composition. Chapter three "Specific Manifestation of the Feature of Scalatti Composition" , a further analysis of the composition technique of his sonata with reference to the traditional music analytical methods and by analyzing melody, rhythm, musical form, mode, harmony, texture, etc. The ending is about the influence and the contribution of Scalatti's composing style to the future composers.In my view, Scalatti fused large quantities of Italian and Spanish folk music materials into his piano sonatas. This does not mean complete reference, but mean further extraction and integration to form his sonata with a unique musical style and to pave a new way for later composers via his creative work.
