There have been great changes to the Chinese associations in the United States since the mid of the 20th century. Most of the Overseas Chinese settle(down in the host countries rather than going back to China after a long time. Besides the traditional Chinese societies in South East Asia, the dramatic changes in the American Chinese society are very typical case. Basing on the evolution of the Chinese society in the United States, this paper analyzes the changes of Chinese associations in the transforming periods, focusing on analyzing their management regulations, internal structures of different types of associations. Many new types of Chinese association emerge in this period, including community-service type, political-participation type, professional technology type and industry-commerce type, etc. many traditional Chinese association have taken effective measures to reform when facing the external challenges and changes. This phenomenon reflects a trend of the Chinese associations being on the way of integration and growth. This paper displays a comprehensive picture for us to understand the structure of the Chinese society in the United States. It is helpful reference for the government on dealing with the affairs of overseas Chinese.
