It discusses whether the authors of the Book of Songs (《国风》) are nobles or laboring people. It is divided into four parts to prove that the authors are nobles. Part I describes the land tenure as well as the way of nobles laboring, which is the basic for the further discussion of how the nobles labored according to the poems. Part II introduces details of sacrifice in Western Chou which shows that not only the king but also thenobles labored as laboring people did at that time. Based on this relation we define why couples of labor poems showed up in Book of Songs (《国风》) ; Part III discusses the educational system in Western Chou which is monopolized by the nobles; Part XI emphasizes the issue of Life of Peasants of Songs Collected in Bin (《豳风·七月》).
