Described Is The Criticism

This paper intends to explore Li Changzhi's criticism style of "the biographical criticism". It adopts the research method of the connection of the text with the "cultural enviroment", and focuses on Li's speciality in criticizing the different cases of different writers and the forming, development in changes and the causes of this kind of criticism method. The paper mainly discusses the intension of "the biographical criticism" from three aspects :" biographical criticism and the historical and biographical literatures "; " biographical criticism and biography writing in modern times " and " biographical criticism and others' criticism ", and compares this criticism style of Li and biography and criticism of others .The main view is: Criticism of Li Changzhi inherited the outstanding tradition of historical literature, which was to mould person's soul, portray person's personality. But he also mixed a large number of argument, which was different from writing techniques of relying mainly on "things" in historical biography. By comparing the biography Liang Qichao and Zhu Dong, we can found that Li Changzhi's viem has much similarities in explanation biography and biographical theory with Liang Qichao, But Liang's emphasized "political skills", while Li focused on " personality ";which reflected that Li's criticism connected closely with the tradition of historical biography. By comparing to Zhu Dongrun, we know that Zhu Dongrun lernded from western experience and achievement of biographical literature, but Li Changzhi wrote in the pattern of "emotion culture", so he paid more attention to the romantic style. Different purposes led to different results. Zhu Dongrun's biography may be truer and more completed, Li Changzhi 's biography may be more humanized. In addition ,Li changzhi had many differences from Liang Qichao and Zhu Dongrun in the criticism style and methods in his book which showed the speciality of "the biographical criticism". After finishing the explanation of "the biographical criticism", this text tells the forming, changes and development of the criticism style from three steps and analyses the characteristics appearing in each step. There are three parts: (1) The person of argument: the period from Wang Guo wei to Lu Xun is the forming stage. Person's life was used as the basis of argument. (2)The person of the emotion: The period from Li Bai to Si Maqian is representative stage. Writing of person demonstrated " personality " and affinity. (3)The person of rationalness : the period from Tao Yuanming to Kong Zi is the changing stage. Rational color appeared very strong in writing person .The sense of affinity has disappeared, while the sense of distance has obviously increased.The paper also dicusses the causes of Li Changzhi's "biographical criticism" from four parts.
