Biographical Writing And Literary Criticism Of Will In The World

In this paper,we interpret Will in the World with Greenblatt’s theory of cultural poetics,and confirm his literary concept with Will in the World,so as to deepen the understanding of cultural poetics concept.This paper focuses on the study of the characteristics of literary criticism in cultural poetics,what the new literary concepts embodied in the literary criticism in Will in the World,and analyzes the way in which biography and literary criticism are combined.Thereby,it explains its new ideas and references,and provides some useful inspirations for our own literary criticism.In the first chapter,it mainly introduces Greenblatt’s cultural poetics and Will in the World.Firstly,it introduces the characteristics of literary criticism of cultural poetics and Greenblatt’s study of Shakespeare.Secondly,it gives a brief description of the writing style of Will in the World.In the second chapter,it mainly expounds the integration of biography and literary criticism.The first is to explain the self-conscious consciousness of "deep description" in biography,which analyzes Greenblatt’s practical view of cultural poetics through a detailed analysis of Greenblatt’s article "Towards the Poetics of Cultures".The second is to analyze how Shakespeare became a playwright in the secular world.Thirdly,it analyzes the mutual construction of plays in and out of the plays.Through the analyses,we can see that the real life and historical environment,the political ideology at that time and the interpersonal relationship had a profound influence on Shakespeare.The fourth is that the work is Shakespeare’s "negotiation" with relevant social forces,analyzing the far-reaching influence of social energy on Shakespeare.Then,the third chapter mainly expounds the new meaning and theoretical significance of Will in the World.First of all,this paper analyzes the innovation of Will in the World.Will in the World innovation includes the secularized narrative position,Focus on the description of the "little things" or the trivialities of life,the mutual construction of real events and the content of works,the implicit and explicit ideology,and the humorous and interesting style of writing.However,the way in which such theoretical concepts as Will in the World intervene in the writing of biographies may be more of ideological value,but it is inevitably lacking in readability and artistry.
