Cultural Reflection And It's Evidence Regarding To Chinese Idioms

The essay puts forward the culture understanding to Chinese idioms and the concept of idiom culture from the cultural and linguistic angles .It also explores and analyses the Chinese idioms and probes into the cultural reason of its origin. The whole essay contains five parts. Chapter one - introduction,briefly introduces the present research situation to the Chinese idioms and the source or meaning of this subject. Chapter two -idioms and culture,mainly explores and explains the idioms ,culture and the concept of idiom culture. Also it talks over the cultural character of Chinese idioms. That is systermatic,variety,nationality and diversity. The research object and range of the idiom culture are put forward too. Chapter three- seeing through the main part of Chinese idioms, analysing the pronunciation,formation and semantic meaning of Chinese idioms, explaining its cultural implication further. Chinese idioms are required to be harmonious and neat in pronunciation with the beauty of regularity and rhythm;, highly condensed formation ,less function word ,simple language, regular structure ;while its semantic meaning has duality or implication, and its surfacial meaning and deep meaning are quite different. This character fully shows that Chinese tradition advocates the culture psychology of the appreciation of beauty with balance, harmony ,implication , emphasizing imagery and the psychology of language use with simplicity, regularity, easy to read ,sing and memory. Chapter four -the cultural reason of Chinese idioms. It briefly talks over that most Chinese idioms have their unique cultural reason. And that all the refulgent traditional culture, rich and colorful phenomenon ofThe people of 'Han' have an important effect on the Chinese idioms. Then the cultural reason for the invention of Chinese idioms is to talk over in the view of the traditional Confucian culture,religious culture ,small-scale peasant economy culture and literal art .Chapter five-the conclusion points out that Chinese idioms as a mirror of traditional Chinese culture reflect the essence of Chinese traditional culture in a unique way. Therefore it's a hard task and a long way to pay more attention to Chinese idioms and to explore the traditional Chinese culture from it.
