| The worship of Kun Lun is a kind of traditional belief of long standing in the history. In study of the legend of Kun Lun, there is a basic presupposition that is Kun Lun is not a kind of annals or religious phenomenon without variety, but an updating system of symbols along with the changes in history, culture and beliefs. Based on the texts from Pre-Qin to the Han dynasty, the author intends to trace and analyze the early Legend of Kun Lun. Through the study of the abundant images of Kun Lun, the author considers the mythological thoughts of Kun lun and trys to show the diversification in the religion grounding on the a pattern of symbol as world center. The first part is to review the former research and make sure the research ways and scope of the paper.The second part is to investigate the legend of Kun Lun from Warring State to Han Dynasty, based on the text of Shanghai jing and Huai nanzi.The Third part is to show the diversification and significations of Kun Lun, based on the thought of Yin Yang and Five Phrases.The last part is to analyze the mythological and religious thoughts of Kun Lun, with the basis of the sacred feeling and religious symbol as world center. |
