Research On The Perfect-fusing Of Huayan And The Pure Land School

In the history of Chinese Buddhism, the teachings of the Pure Land School gradually became the mainstream of all Chinese Buddhist schools. The dissertation is on the fusing of the Pure Land School and the Huayan School. With three chapters, it carries on in many aspects, such as the fusing history, teachings, sutras, and so on.The first chapter is about the fusing of the Pure Land School and the Huayan School. It briefly narrated the scenery when the two schools communicated in the past. Then it expounded the downfall of Chinese Buddhism in Ming Dynasty, and showed the prevailing of the crazy Zen practicers. At the key time, Lianchi(Zhu Hong) was gifted to the world and devoted him to practicing Pure Land teachings. In order to save the life of Buddhism, Lianchi tried to carry forth Pure Land teachings. He integrated the Pure Land thoughts with Huayan thoughts. He succeeded in promoting the Pure Land by fusing it with Huayan School. He helped many believers to cultivate the Pure Land methods. And his thoughts were accepted at large. So, the Pure Land became more and more flourishing, and decided the way of Chinese Buddhism's development.
