Fengshui And Village Clan Society

Fengshui is an important component of Chinese traditional culture. Through studying the materials of local historiy and field work,the author takes the Sanliao village of southern Jiangxi as a case, making an attempt to inspect the relations between Fengshui and village clan society. The article takes the millennium development of Zeng clan and Liao clan in Sanliao village as a clue,focusing on the analysis and discussion of the role and status of Zeng clan and Liao clan in Sanliao village in the developing process of Fengshui of Jiangxi xingfa. Song and Yuan period is the fundamental accumulation phase of Fengshui .By Ming period , because Liao Junqing and Zeng Congzheng selected the location of Ming Tombs, from then on the genre of Sanliao Fengshui became representative of Jiangxi genre, and Jiangxi genre has been widely disseminated. As Fengshui families, Zeng clan and Liao clan set up a memorial to Yang Junsong respectively. They change the village space centred around Fengshui constantly. As villagers conscious belief ,Fengshui played an invaluable role in clan survival.
