Since May 4th Movement of 1919, geomantic omen was on the shelf as superstition, so the research of geomantic influence on ancient Chinese landscape painting has been neglected in the past century. The different point of this thesis is that it does not only focus on the geomantic influence on composition of ancient Chinese landscape painting as the other thesis does, but also proves that because of the influence of geomantic omen Chinese landscape painting adopting cavalier perstective, which is completely different from the western painting. Also some of the geomantic conceptions were used in ancient Chinese landscape painting theory, becoming aesthetic concept of painting.In this thesis we firstly introduced modern geomantic researching situation and the foundation of this thesis, pointing out that we may found the geomantic influence even in the existing earliest Chinese landscape painting. Then we analyze in detail the village geomantic imago of dragon vein, sand hill, water, and delve in Thousand Mile Territory Painting of Song Dynasty. And also basing on Fawei Theory of Zi Part in Imperial Collection of Four, we compare similar concepts in geomantic theory and the aesthetic concept of painting, such as firm and gentle, floating and still, gather and...
