"Hui"(会) is an active ingredient in the modern Chinese Mandarin. In the use of language, "hui" can be used as the verb, the auxiliary verb, the adverb and so on and also can be used in all kinds of languages environment.However, the academe didn't lead enough systematical study on it. The thesis makes a lasted inspection through the massive language materials on the research foundation of predecessor, Besides, This thesis inspects the development and variation of the "hui" from the lasted angle and presents a fairly exhaustive study of the syntax structural change and different semantic evolution so as to find the implicated regularity and correct the misuses of the people to the "hui".The main part of the thesis is divided into several chapters according to Chinese history, including before the Middle Ages, the Middle Ages, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasty.
