The Diachronic Research On Overlapped Adjectives AA,AABB

In Chinese, the overlapped phenomenon of words is one kind of important language phenomena,which is always paid attention in the grammatical world. Its multiplicity of internal structure and the complexity of pragmatics constitute a huge system. Adjective overlapped phenomenon is an extremely important part of that. But so far, all researches focus on synchronic attention only, and causes to be short of rational explanations to certain phenomena.This paper inspects the historical development process of adjective overlapped phenomenon carefully, and selects two representative kinds of overlapped forms AA,AABB to carry on the analysis, adopting the quantification and contrast methods ,draws a conclusion finally: The existence of these two overlapped forms has the profound historical origin, which is the result of pronunciation,grammar and pragmatics those affect each other continuously.The paper analyses two kinds of overlapped forms separately, including the internal constitution, the semantics, the syntax function of two forms in different time, try hard to make diachronic research and synchronic research be together well.
