We have investigated the relation between emotion and physiologic measure, especially the relation between emotion and electroencephalogram. Twenty subjects took part in the experiment. We chose the rhythm displayed by two different musical instruments, the one is XUN, and the other is ZHENG The experiment included two parts: the subjects listened to ZHENG melody for the first time and listened to XUN melody for the second time. The main results and conclusions are: (1) two different melodies elicited two different emotions: sadness and happiness, and there were not gender effect. (2) The physiologic reactivity of female subjects was different from male subjects, so we can not mix data in statistic. (3) Emotion have not influenced Skin conductance, but gender effect have influenced Skin conductance, the skin conductance in happiness was higher than the skin conductance in sadness. Heard rate was influenced by interaction of emotion and gender effect. (4) In different cerebra areas, the energy of waves that are different frequency have reduced in sadness and in happiness. (5) In different cerebra areas, the energy of alfa, beta and theta wave have increased in sadness than in happiness. In center area, the energy of gama wave have reduced in sadness.
