All the academic works of the Ming and Qing Buddhism were mainly concerned of "Ming-Qing Four Master" . At that time the study was mainly about the history of Buddhism and academics, although there was the study about textual research and the question-focused research. Following the study of the 1970s, the academic circle restarted the study of Ming and Qing Buddhism from the 1990s and the study was progressive, which is one case-focused study and question-focused research.The study of Lian-Chi developed and was concerned about all the aspects of the thought of Lian-Chi. It was about the thought of Sukhavati (pure land) , or about the relation of 'Zen (Chan) -Sukhavati (pure land) ' , or the relations of Lian-Chi and the laymen Buddhism, or about the thought of the relation of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. All the study was concerned with many aspects of the thought of Lian-Chi, which was profound. Under the foundation of the previous study , I think it is necessary that we study it comprehensively from some aspectThis paper analyzes the works of Lian-Chi and learns from theprevious studys. The paper is divided into four chapters for studyingthe thought of Lian-Chi. The first chapter is about his life and hisworks. The second chapter is about the thought of 'the importantof commandments" and this chapter is divided into two sections. Thefirst section mainly researches his thought of 'the importance ofmaxim' , which mixes together the schools of buddhism. I thinkLian-Chi emphasizes the importance of the maxim in his works, whichdid not attract the academic circles. Under the condition of theimportance of the commandments, Lian-Chi emphasizes the thought of'the same meaning of the Confucianism and Buddhism' through'commandments as filial piety' . The third chapter studies hisinfluential thought of 'saving livings' and its foundations.
