The development history of savage nationality is an important link in China's ancient national history. In Wei, Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties period, the development of savage nationalities of the Southern Dynasties especially in Jiang-Mian region. The savage nationalities in Jiang-Mian region were mainly the descendant of Panhu and Linjun nationalities of Han Dynasty. They mostly distributed in four states of Jing, Yong, Ying and Si etc. They had their own folkways and customs and the basic social organization, in some areas, their social productivity and social property had already been close to the level of the Han nationality. In the face of the feudal ruler's high-handed policies, they rose up in various of resistance, and they also had brought a series of passive consequences while attacking the feudal ruler. Jiang-Mian region acted as the important protective screen that the Southern Dynasties stock for the North Dynasties. Going or coming of savage nationalities would directly influenced the political pattern of Southern Dynasties and North Dynasties, so they became the focus that regimes of south and north fought for. The savage nationalities themselves would make different responses with the changes of the south and north situation too. Through the development about 200 years from Southern Dynasties to Sui Dynasty, most of savage nationalities in Jiang-Mian region had already merged to the Han nationality.
