Chinglish, as a type of errors caused by interference of Chinese language, thought and culture, occurs frequently in compositions by non-English majors. Chinglish with its various manifestations impairs written communication effect and sometimes makes written communication impossible. This thesis, under the direction of EA, focuses on analysis of Chinglish in compositions by Chinese college students of non-English majors. Besides, some implications are worked out to help avoid those Chinglish expressions in this thesis. It is hoped that the analysis and the implications will contribute to better English teaching and learning in China.The thesis is composed of six chapters.Chapter one first gives a brief account of current situation of students' writing performance concerning Chinglish and presents a general account of the study of Chinglish, which indicates the necessity of the study of Chinglish. Then, it points out the significance of the study to the English teaching in China and sketches out the plan of the thesis.Chapter two consists of four parts.
