"Favorite Of The Time" In Culture Acceptance Field

There are so many studies about"Zhang Ailing", and with western artistic thoughts coming to China during the past decades, perspectives to explore this female writer become even various: from text criticism, archetype criticism, formalism, psychological analysis to even feminism. In this thesis, the emphasis will be put on the overall analysis of"Zhang Ailing Fashion"as a phenomenon, rather than that of Zhang's text or literature ideas.Zhang Ailing(1920---1995), known as"pop novel master", is an outstanding female writer in modern Chinese literature, and once led three fashions. 1943, she made a successful debut in Shanghai. Mr. Fu Lei at that time published an article On Zhang Ailing's Novel in Wan Xiang under the pen name of Xun Yu, talking about several important works in <>, and spoke highly of <>. Until July, 1945, Zhang had published 0.26 million words, 17 novels of various lengths; 42 essays with about 0.15 million words. Even in the 1950s to 1960s, when Zhang was cold in mainland, China, her works also enjoyed a high reputation in Taiwan, Hong Kong and overseas. Xia Zhiqing, an overseas scholar, made an exception to write more than forty pages about one writer_Zhang Ailing in his work History of Modern Chinese Novel. In Taiwan, Zhang's works even became the youth writer's format. The third Zhang fashion originated in mainland after the reform and opening-up. During this period, Zhang officially came into the literary history, and gradually became a literary fashion in the academic circle and among readers. << Tales of Marvels >>, << Rumors >>were repeatedly issued, works like << Golden Lock >>and << The Red Rose and The White Rose >>even became films. With the increase of her fans, Zhang has even risen to an idol in spirit. How can an"isolated island"period female writer draw so much attention?This thesis is aimed to present an overall analysis to the formation mechanism of these three fashions, and a systematic research combining literature theory, artistic psychology, sociology, media, and other theories to seek new foundings.
