Study On Novels Of Families' Rising And Declining In Ming And Qing Dynasties

The whole paper is made up of two parts:An Introduction and the main body. The introduction states the cause of topic choosing and the ways of demonstrating it.The time span of the novels of Families'Rising and Declining of the Ming and Qing Dynasties ranged from the beginning year of late Ming Emperor Jia Jing to the last year of Middle Qing Emperor Qian Long. The works mainly refer to five great ones, namely , Jing Ping Mei , Xing Shi Yin Yan Zhuan, Lin Lan Xiang, the Dream of Red Chamber, and Qi Lu Deng. This thesis focuses on"the family"to explore the whole novels about the rising and declining family in the whole Ming and Qing dynasties in the form of subject research with the methods of sociology, culture, history and criticism. Meanwhile, it makes an attempt to research the features of this kind of novels and the historical meanings of making biography for a family, and to explore the causes of culture formation of this kind of novel.The main body of the paper is divided into three sections. Inside, specific demonstration and analysis are carried out in full.The first section of it is to define and interpret such kind of novels in conception and then, it is to analyze and summarize its features which include four aspects. They are as follows: the features of historical biography that is to write for one family; the narrative structure of spreading from one family to a nation; its good tradition of true-to-life narration; the sentimental atmosphere like cold and gloomy fog all around the prosperity in appearance.The second section is to look through its culture in the way of perspective from the rising and declining of the family. The narration is carried out from four aspects.
