Job burnout is a symptom of exhaustion, which is apt to appear in working context. When the job itself requires too much of an employee's ability, capacity and resources, he (she) will feel exhausted and worn out, which is called job burnout. And the symptom will directly or indirectly affect his (her) performance and both physical and mental health.Employees in commercial banks especially in the burgeoning ones are having more and more working pressures due to the dramatically increasing competitions between banks. If the heavy working pressures they are facing can't be effectively controlled for a long time, job burnout will be arising.Once job burnout arises, it will cause negative effects on employees, which means lack of working enthusiasm and creativity, not being able to concentrate on the job, less self-esteem, being unable to control the job and himself (herself), and over reactions to normal pressures. As job burnout symptoms become more serious, the person will become more anxious and depressed, which may result in some physical illness, such as chronic fatigue, headache and higher blood pressure. And under some extreme circumstances may cause personality disaggregating and schizothyme. These negative phenomena will do harm to banks, such as employee's poor service attitudes and more desire to leave his (her) post.If the administrators of the commercial banks attach more importance to reasons, control and catharsis of employee's job burnout, the management and efficiency will be greatly improved, which is exactly the purpose and intention of this paper.Present investigation accomplished through questionnaires. Major findings are the following:1. Stress source of clerks in burgeoning commercial banks are correlative with burnout. Job characteristics, personal relationship and personality are correlative with burnout. Role stress is correlative with burnout outstandingly.
