Preliminary Research On Li Ji Annotation By Zhengxuan

Annotation on Li Ji is one of the famous Annotation on San Li of Zhengxuan. And there have been too many studies on it from ancient times to now. At present, researches are mostly concentrating on critical interpretation and grammar and vocabulary phenomenon, such as revealing and discriminating synonyms, analyzing critical interpretation terms, inquiring into characteristic of explanation according to specific language environment.This paper will mainly dwell upon the special study from the angle of edition, documentation and collation along with the concern to the particular context of Sheng Zhi Wu from three aspects. One is to observe the edition spreading of Annotation on Li Ji, which including three categories of Dun huang papers edition, stone classics edition and carved edition. Another is going to give the collation method a overall analysis. Zhengxuan had never restricted the annotation form in one pattern, he could quote all kinds of good qualities referring classics, historical records, decrees and so on, either giving the entire names or chapter names. Thirdly, this paper will talk about the annotation and collation of Sheng Zhi Wu.Through such study, we can think that Annotation on Li Ji had used such method as self proofreading, comparative proofreading, the other party proofreading, reasoning proofreading which were put forward by later scholars. Besides, Zhengxuan always analyzed the causes of original edition mistakes from different angles, he could also lay stress on original meaning of characters and attach importance to standard of them while not taking rash decisions. At last, Annotation on Li Ji had provided with plentiful ancient pronunciation and meanings materials for us. Of course, the shortcomings such as some non-identical terms and obscure explanation could be reflected by Annotation on Li Ji.
