As the literary goddess conceived by Hulan River, Xiao Hong is not a great but full of personality writer. The vastness of Northeast Chinese soil opened up her vision and broadened her mind and thereafter tempered her independent and free idiosyncrasy of creativity. Less than ten years' creation, Xiao Hong left more than one million beautiful words. In addition, her works showed a special artistic style and aesthetic value, from both contents and form. This thesis tries to make a research on her personal pursuit and conscious creation.It's a main character of her novel to be combined with prose and poem. She expressed her pursuit of life and literary creation through her prosaic novels .Xiao hong is an authoress who has rich experiences and emotions. In her lifetime, there were too much of homeless and miserable, which was transformed into her sad, dreamlike words, representing her life experience as a sensitive authoress.At the same time, as a special and gifted authoress, with language used in an irregular way, her novels were much personalized.For half a century, Xiao Hong's fate of literature witnessed great vicissitudes in the earth-shaking change. But real art, by no means could be buried and Xiao Hong showed us another writing method through her conscious pursuit of style.
