The purpose of this study was to obtain information from outsourcing laborers concerning (1) the structure of outsourcing laborers'work stress;(2) their level of work stress; (3) work and organizational characteristics that increase their work stress; (4) the relationship of those variables to outsourcing laborers'intent to stay.A random sample of outsourcing laborers was obtained in Soochow district. The research instruments were organized, with a demographic data sheet, into a whole inventory and distributed to 1000 outsourcing laborers. There was a return rate of 100% with 874(87.4%) usable surveys.In this study, many statistic methods, such as factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, T-tests, One-way analysis of variance, multi-way analysis of variance, structure equations and so on, were used to analyze the data.The findings indicated that the self-made Outsourcing Laborers'Work Stress Inventory had nice reliability and validity. There were seven factors contributing to outsourcing laborers'stress.The results showed that the outsourcing laborers'work stress level was not very high for the respondents. Males had expressed a higher level of stress than females; the workers who are 20-22years old had experienced a highest level of stress; higher level of knowledge higher level of stress; the workers in different enterprises had different level of stress.The analysis also indicated that five stressors were accounted to workers stress. Six stressors and perceived stress influenced workers'intent to stay.
