Content: Transitive inference characterized by two or more than two judgment with transitive relation, it is an indirect relation reasoning. The research of transitive inference will focus on two sides: one is a model research of transitive inference; another is the spouting age of children's transitive inference. In the research of the proper time of the age of children's transitive inference, most of it are length transitive inference, size transitive inference and spatial transitive inference, few people get on with the research of weight transitive inference. There are two short points among these research: 1) fail to distinguish children's answering between logic reasoning and daily knowledge.2) in the research of the spouting age of children's transitive inference under the conditions of training children, no remove effect of place memory. The aim of this research is to prove and test the above two imperfect hypothesis and discuss the spouting age of children's transitive inference. There are two experiments:Sample one: adopted a mixed design of 2( material acquaintance )×2(material quality) ×3 (material form) ×5 (age span).age span is a between- group factor includes five levels : small class, middle class and top class in a kindergarten ,grade one and grade two in a pupil school. Material acquaintance, material quality and material form are within-group factor, and have twelve treatment in all.Sample two: adopted two types of twelve questions in all of 2(material acquaintance)><2(material quality) ><3 (material form). The material of type one is different from sample one, two in forms: 1)A is heavier than B, and B is heavier than C, which one is the heaviest? 2) A is heavier than B. and C is heavier than A, which one is the heaviest? The material of type two is the same with sample one, two in forms : 1 )A is heavier than B, B is heavier than C, which one is the heaviest? 2) A is heavier than B, C is heavier than A, which one is the heaviest? We could draw some conclusions from the research:1. In the processing of children's reasoning, they are influenced by perception information and knowledge experiences.2. To master weight transitive inference is about the time of the end of grade one and the early of grade two, 7.07 years on average.3. It is an illogical reasoning process for those children who fail to master transitive inference in the reasoning processing.4. In the reasoning processing of children, it exits effect of place memory.5. After training, top class children in a kindergarten could master weight transitive inference, 5.84 years on average.
