Mixed Media And Chinese Contemporary Art

The words of "Mixed media" has been referred for about hundreds years. Several works about mixed media were published, which always relating the form language, or describing the effect of using natural material, or preferring how to collage and assemble kinds of materials. Anyway, few people paid attention to the ideas, the cultural subjects and the problems of society.The first chapter introduces the origin of using material in art works and the status of the mixed media progress in Chinese contemporary art. In the second chapter, I point that is important to show the cultural subject and society identity in the mixed media works. Foreign artists such as Joseph Beuys, Robert Rauschenberg as well as Chinese artists like Chen zhen, Cai guoqiang, Xu bing, they are all winner. The third, my constructive idea is about the displaying for mixed media works. There are three ways of displaying, including: still, acting, alternating with the viewers. The forth chapter I answer the reason of few mixed media works in the recent years.
