A Study On The Transferred-designations Of Predicates To Xunzi

There are many examples of usage of transferred-designations of predicates in Xunzi. The author of this paper wants to confirm the theory of Transferred-designation with the usages in Xunzi. First, this paper introduce the theory of transferred-designation to us, in this part, the author presents his opinion on transferred-designation theory. Second, it makes a study on categories of predicates which can be used as transferred-designations. Third, it indicates the roles which transferred-designations of predicates can be. Fourth, this paper also points out the new forms of transferred-designations through comparison. At last this paper gives us two ideas about the engendering of transferred-designations on base of Xunzi.The author hopes that it will be beneficial lightly to the understanding of Xunzi and the research to the grammar phenomena of Xunzi, and he hopes this paper can be used as date in the study of Xunzi.
