The Greek culture, as the resource of western civilization, was greatly influenced by the ancient Near East, especially the Egypt and the Western Asia. It is in the Orientalizing Period which is the important stage of Greece that the influence reached upon its peek. But on account of this period lies in the Archaic age of early Greece, the lack of the document and dependable materials, so the domestic scholars have less specially researched and it was only mentioned in the book about the history of culture or art. But for the external scholarship, the relevant research became more, since Oswyn Murry had delivered 《The Early Greece》 in 1980. However they didn't make an intentive and comprehensive study of this period and did not touch the immanent connection between the Orientalism and the polis regime.Thus this thesis aims to use the archaeological materials, anthrology, the science of culture, linguistics and the works of the classcial writers and the relevent study of external scholars to put emphasis on the concrete content of this period and try to probe into the period from the aspect of historial influence.The thesis is composed of preface, text which is consisted of four parts, conclution and appendix.Chapter one explains the concept comprehensively by its connotation, introduction, and research of scholars.Chapter two analyzes the cause of the period's appearance and explores systematically by geographic element, national character, cultural condition, and millitary element.Chapter three analyzes the approach of this period.
