It is a special phase which from the ancient times to the medial times. Studying the status of kinship appellation in this period, we can know the process about the development of Chinese vocabulary. The author choosing Wei & Jin North and South Dynasties as the studying periods aimed for a better analysis of the large system of ancient Chinese appellation. By doing this, we can present the visage and system of the kinship appellation more clearly and systematically. As a developing language , the system of kinship appellation accedes from the previous period while also possesses the characteristics about itself ,which embody the different information of culture .Being the reflection of period changes, the system of vocabulary represents its flexibility as the time goes forward . Wei & Jin north and south dynasties is a bifurcation period when the spoken language and recite language were detached, and it is also a period when the nations amalgamated from different places. These changes will be embodied in the system of kinship appellation.
