Study Of Carmina Burana By Orff

Carl Orff was one of the most famous composers and music educators in German in 20^th. He established his reputation as a modern composer using his unvarnished style to combine music, dance and drama together to form the unique composing style. Meanwhile, orff-Schulwerk became more and more popular in many countries and asserted great influence in the modern music-education field. The world-wide spreading of Orff-style and Orff-Schulwerk was very infrequent in the history of the music Carmina Burana was the masterpiece of Orff which had been composed in a particular era and had it's unique style.This paper has two parts. The first part introduces his life experience, composing career and the relationship with the Nazi, his composing career is illustrated from three aspects, that is, the composing periods, the composing range and his main works. The second part analyzes Carmina Burana profoundly from the words origin, composing process, performing course, presenting form ,works structure, stylistic character and aesthetic realm.
