The Value Orientation Of Cai Yuan-pei's Aesthetics Ideology

As a science, aesthetics was introduced from the Occident, and value was also derived from the west as a modern conception,and now it has been a frequent topic discussed in the fields of politics ,economics and culture along with the economics of Marxism introduced to China. Value and esthetics have been studied together, as they are beneficial to the construction of harmonious society.In the early twentieth century, Cai Yuan-pei , a well–known philosopher, had recognized the value of aesthetics .At that time, the Confucianism had collapsed with the corruption of feudalism, Cai Yuan-pei introduced aesthetics from the west originally, and then he combined it with Chinese esthetics conception and put forward his own idea of esthetics. At the same time, he also posed the method that can make the aesthetics achieved it's value, which is called"Art education substitute religion". This article simply researched the value of Cai Yuan-pei's esthetics.Seven parts are discussed in this paper:The first part is the preface, giving a brief introduction of Cai Yuan-pei's esthetic thought.The second part is the analyzing of value, philosophy value and Cai Yuan-pei's aesthetics value .The third part is Cai Yuan-pei's thought of art.The fourth part is Cai Yuan-pei's thought about how to make an objective judgment toward arts.The fifth part is the characteristic of poem, sculpture, architecture and so on.The sixth part is how to achieve art-value.The seven part is the epilogue. It summarizes the whole paper and points out we should understand the aesthetic ideaology of Cai Yuan-pei , and recognize the value of art education, making an optimum choice .
