A complete change occurs in commercial exhibition design with digital time coming. Such an enormous shift involving desigh field reflects on the reconstruction of design conceipts and methods, as well as on the greatly spread of the significance in design culture. More directly, it reflects on the new sculpting language and expression of exhibition.In the theory studies of commercial exhibition design, visual language with its design expression is the key part of exhibition design. Meanwhile it's one of the insufficiencies in exhibition theories. This thesis detailedly discourses the design, expression and innovation of visual language elements, using theories in linguistics and communication science for reference. This thesis mainly focuses on the new development of commercial exhibition language, grammar of visual language, context of commercial exhibition language and the application of the new media language in commercial exhibiton.This thesis is an exploring research of commercial exhibition language in the background where multimedia and virtual techonologies are widely apllied in design field. The research on the commercial exhibition visual language is also wished to be an new approach to the commercial exhibition design.
