| Academic cheating has become a pervasive problem on college campus. There are many researches abroad, but few in our country. This article is devoted to discuss four issues. First, the discussion is made about the situation of college students' academic cheating in our country. Second, the research is conducted concerning the effect of achievement goal orientation, academic self-efficacy on academic cheating and neutralizing attitude. Third, the discussion is also made about the difference of gender and grade in academic cheating and neutralizing attitude. The last but not least, analysis is done on the relationship between academic cheating and neutralizing attitude. By a series of analysis, including exploratory factor analysis, validity and reliability analysis, analysis of variance , multiple regression analysis and structural equation model. The findings indicate that:1. Academic cheating has become a serious problem among college students.2. There are grade and gender differences, but not interactive action between grade and gender in academic cheating. Male students have more academic cheating than female students significantly, and college upperclassmen have more academic cheating than lowerclassmen。3. Achievement goal orientations have an effect on academic cheating. Mastery goal orientation has negative effect on academic cheating, the higher level mastery goal orientation, the less academic cheating;performance-avoid goal orientation has positive effect on academic cheating, the higher level mastery goal orientation, the more academic cheating;performance-approach goal orientation has positive effect on academic cheating, but the effect is not significant.4. When we divide achievement goal orientation into single-goals and multi-goals, we find that high performance-avoid goal group has the most academic cheating in all groups, and that high performance-avoid and mastery goal group has the most academic cheating in the multi-goals groups. So we can conclude that performance-avoid goal orientation has a very great influence on academic cheating.5. Academic self-efficacy has a significant effect on academic cheating. With the academic self-efficacy increasing, the academic cheating decreases.6. There is not significant gender difference in neutralizing attitude variance. But with grade ascending, the neutralizing attitude strengthens. Achievement goal orientation and academic self-efficacy have some effect on neutralizing attitude, with mastery goal and self-efficacy increasing, the neutralizing attitude weakens.7. Academic cheating has a great effect on students' neutralizing attitude. The more academic cheating, the stronger neutralizing attitude is. |
